Work Hard, but Stay Alive!

Stress is everywhere, and whether its Fear of Missing Out (FOMO), financial worries, pressure from your boss, or yourself there are few moments in life when you can truly say you are free from stress.

And nowadays you have a barrage of advise from people like me who want to tell you need to change in order to protect yourselves from the dangers of stress, which, lets be honest simply “Stresses you out, even more?”

I’m here to tell you that I’ve been there and I thought I had my stress well under control and anyone who didn’t was weak. Now in my 50’s I know those views were wrong and although my healthy lifestyle helped me to deal with the stress I was under, the reality is stress almost destroyed my marriage and I made the very people I love the most feel unimportant, and although I loved it when my kids were young I know that stress also meant at times I took them for granted and this I regret.

So I’m not here to tell you that you need to shave your head and move to a Shaolin Temple (although I have considered this a few times), but I am here to offer support. SJS are on a mission to help people like you to better understand why your brain produces stress hormones and give you very simple techniques you can use to be aware of what is triggering them and reduce them.

I think it’s fair to say that most of us know more about out mobile phones than we do about our brains. Why on Earth we weren’t taught this stuff at school and instead tortured with Algebra and Trigonometry is a mystery.

For those of you who didn’t click and are either thinking “Not more of this Mental Health stuff” or “I’m not stressed”, that’s exactly what I thought and yet can you be absolutely certain stress hormones are not having an impact on your health, or the way you treat others?

What the Doctors and Scientists say…

According to Jay Winner, MD, author, Take the Stress out of Your Life; founder and director, Stress Management Program, Sansum Clinic, Santa Barbara, Calif, USA and many other research studies. Stress is now the major cause of many chronic health disorders, including: Heart Disease, Asthma, Obesity, Diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Depression and Anxiety, Headaches, Gastrointestinal Problems, Aging and Premature Death.

Add to this the £42 billion being lost by UK businesses and I’d like to be so bold as to say that a free session on how to notice when one’s brain is about to create stress hormones, how to stop this from happening and then respond in a more measured and caring manner would be worth a look.

In this FREE 88 minute Mindfulness Workshop we will teach you the reasons why your brain often creates stress hormones without you knowing and how to take back control to reduce stress in your life and build better relationships at home and work.
